Carolina Hurricanes Sign Dmitry Orlov

The Carolina Hurricanes sign the puck-moving rearguard Orlov to a two-year $7.75m AAV contract. Orlov will be joining the title-chasing Canes as they keep stockpiling puck movers. Orlov should slot in nicely on either PP unit and help a team that was starved of goals in its Eastern Conference Finals Series vs. the Florida Panthers. He joins the core that already includes Brent Burns, Brett Pesce, and Jaccob Slavin. The Hurricanes push their chips into the middle in the quest for a cup. Per Pierre Lebrun, this does not exclude the Canes from making other moves.

It’s reported the Hurricanes may have signed Michael Bunting as well.
