Chicago Blackhawks and Seattle Kraken Swap Forwards

The Seattle Kraken are active this offseason after acquiring Mason Marchment from the Dallas Stars on Thursday. Today they acquired Joe Veleno from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Andre Burakovsky. The Blackhawks acquired Veleno at the trade deadline from the Detroit Red Wings for Petr Mrazek and Craig Smith.

Joe Veleno

Veleno played in 74 games last season between the two teams recording 17 points on eight goals and nine assists. He was a -23. In 18 games for the Blackhawks, he had seven points on three goals and four assists. He was a minus-nine. In 306 career games, he’s recorded 81 points on 38 goals and 43 assists. He’s a career-65 and has ten career power-play points. 

Andre Burakovsky 

Burakovsky played 79 games for the Kraken last season and scored 37 points on ten goals and 27 assists. He was a minus-three and had eight power-play points. In 696 career games, he has 387 points, 153 goals, and 234 assists. He’s a career +34 and has 84 career power-play points. Burakovsky is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion. In 93 career playoff games, he has 47 points on 20 goals and 27 assists. He’s a +14 and has six playoff power-play points.
