Christian Dvorak Not Expected To Be Ready For Beginning Of The Season

The Montreal Canadiens General Manager Ken Hughes announced this morning that all players are healthy and expected to start the season, except for one, Christian Dvorak. The 27-year-old forward was limited to 62 games last season after getting shut down at the end of the season to undergo a season-ending knee injury. Dvorak has struggled with injuries over the last few seasons, however, it is unknown how much time he will miss to begin the season, but he still has to meet with his surgeon and be medically cleared. The Illinois native will be entering his eighth season in the NHL as he’s spent time with the Arizona Coyotes and Montreal Canadiens, where he has put up 88 goals and 119 assists for 209 points in 422 games. Dvorak has been a solid piece for the Canadiens since coming over from the Coyotes, as the Canadiens were in desperate need of centers, and Dvorak won 52% of his faceoffs last season. With Dvorak out of the lineup, that opens up a spot for Jake Evans to find his way onto the Canadiens roster to begin the season. Evans also missed time last year with a lower-body injury as he appeared in 52 games last season, putting up two goals and 17 assists for 19 points, Evans has 20 goals and 44 assists for 64 points in 186 games with the Habs.
