Coghlan and Chibrikov Reassigned to the Moose, Salomonsson Injury Update

The Winnipeg Jets reassigned Dylan Coghlan and Nikita Chibrikov to the Manitoba Moose earlier today. The Moose get a massive boost to their blueline with the addition of Dylan Coghlan and the return of their prized scorer, Nikita Chibrikov.

This is great news for the Moose, who are currently on an eight-game losing streak and looking to return to winning in this upcoming weekend’s series against the Rockford IceHogs.

Coghlan brings a wealth of veteran experience to the Moose. He’s got 192 AHL games of experience coming to the Moose’s right side with 107 NHL games as well. Coghlan, who suited up for one game for the Jets so far this season will look to make an immediate impact for the team.

Chibrikov got four NHL games with the Jets under his belt before finding his way back down to the Moose. He’ll have a ton of confidence as he scored three points (2G, 1A) with Winnipeg.

The only question to ask is how the Moose’s lineups look now after the addition of veteran defenseman Dylan Coghlan and the team’s leading scorer Nikita Chibrikov. Chibrikov has 13 points (5G, 8A) in 19 games for the Moose this season and will look to add to that total on Friday night against Rockford.

The Moose play Rockford for game two of the two-game set on Sunday afternoon for their final game before Christmas. The team’s defence is bolstered even more as they are expecting back defender Elias Salomonsson after he left the December 6th game versus Belleville with an upper-body injury as confirmed by Moose coach Mark Morrison.

Edmonton Oilers Thoughts: Finals, Game 5

That year was the first thing that came to my mind after the Edmonton Oilers played a first period from Hockey Hell on Thursday night. I’ve written about this team having a weird obsession with adversity, I’ve written about them loving to prove doubters wrong. Never in my wildest dreams did I think they could […]
