The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded Andrew Peeke to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Jakub Zboril and a 2027 third-round pick as the Bruins continue to be busy during deadline day. Peeke, a 21-year-old defenseman, is in his fifth year in the NHL, putting up 10 goals and 32 assists for 42 points in 218 games. This season, he’s been limited to just 23 games, where he’s put up one goal and seven assists for eight points.
In return, the Blue Jackets get defenceman Jacob Zboril, who is a young defenseman but has yet to see any time in the NHL this season, as he’s played in 31 games with the Providence Bruins in the AHL. With the move to Columbus, Zboril will have an opportunity to get some playing time with a Blue Jackets team that is currently rebuilding around guys like Adam Fantilli up front.
