J.T. Compher Signs With Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings have announced that they’ve come to terms on a five-year contract worth $5.1 million annually with forward J.T. Compher. Compher was selected 35th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. He had a career season posting 17 goals and 35 assists for 52 points in 82 games with the Colorado Avalanche in the 2022-23 season.

J.T. Compher would also be a key contributor to the Avalanche’s 2022 Stanley Cup Championship team. In Compher’s seven NHL seasons, he’s played 423 games and scored 88 goals and 106 assists for 194 points. Compher will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the young Red Wings squad and add additional scoring talent to the team.

The Detroit Red Wings have gone through a lengthy rebuild process, and Compher will be a bright spot for Red Wings fans as they look to be competitive in the near future.

Compher will be an unrestricted free agent when his contract expires at the end of the 2027-28 season.
