Connor Bedard Signs ELC With Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that they have signed Connor Bedard to a three-year entry-level contract worth a little over $13,350,000 over the course of three seasons; his cap hit comes in at a $950,000 AAV. Bedard’s contract also includes a total of $285,000 in signing bonuses, along with a possible $10,500,000 in signing bonuses. Bedard was the first overall pick by the Blackhawks in this year’s draft. The 2023 first overall pick will likely start his season at the NHL level with the Blackhawks, who are currently rebuilding, and Bedard is the biggest piece of that rebuild. In two seasons with the Regina Pats, Bedard put up video game numbers scoring 134 goals and putting up 137 assists for 271 points in 134 WHL games, as he led the league in all offensive categories, he would also win the CHL Player Of The Year Award. The WHL wasn’t the only place Bedard shined as he led Canda to a Gold Medal during the U20 World Championships, where he had nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points in seven games and was named the best player of the tournament. The timing of the signing couldn’t have been any better as Bedard turns 18 today.
