Adam Ružička was claimed Thursday by the Arizona Coyotes. Ružićka is a big-body center that fits the mold for what Bill Armstrong has been adding to the team – big bodies that can play defensively and, are flexible offensively and able to play more than one position. A guy like Liam O’Brien can stand up for his teammates while being helpful in the offensive schemes.

He was placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames Wednesday.

At 6’4″, Ruzicka slides into the Coyotes lineup as the second tallest forward, tied with Lawson Crouse.

Ružička has spent all five of his NHL seasons with the Calgary Flames organization, spending time between their old AHL affiliate, Stockton Heat, and with the big club in Calgary.

In 98 games with the Heat, Ružička has tallied 32 goals and 36 assists, totaling 68 points overall.
In 114 games with the Flames, he has marked 14 goals and 26 assists, adding to 40 points overall.
