Detroit Red Wings Affiliates and Prospects Check-In

The Detroit Red Wings finished October 4-5-1. Their minor league affiliates had a great month, combining to go 9-2-2. Their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, finished the month going 6-1-1, and in the ECHL, their affiliate, the Toledo Walleye, went 3-1-1.

The Griffins’ only loss in regulation came back on October 12th and their extra time loss came on October 27th, they have combined to outscore their opponents 20-14. The offense side was led by Dominik Shine who had eight points coming on four goals and four assists and was a plus two, Amadeus Lombardi who had six points on four goals and two assists, and Joe Snively who had six points as well on a goal and five assists and finished as a plus three. The Griffins’ goaltending also combined to post a 1.73 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage.

Toledo Walleye

After starting the season 2-0-0, the Walleye suffered their first loss on October 23rd, and then on the 25th, they suffered an overtime loss. They’ve combined to outscore their opponents through 16-13. The offense has been led by Brandon Hawkins who had nine points in October coming on one goal and eight assists, Tyler Spezia who had six points coming on four goals and two assists, and Trenton Bliss who had five points on two goals and three assists. The goalies combined to post a .916 save percentage and a 2.59 goals-against average.

Red Wings Top 10 Prospects

1.) Defenseman – Simon Edvinsson – Detroit Red Wings

Edvinsson has been with Detroit this whole season to this point, in October he put up four points on a goal and three assists, he is a minus-one and has 13 hits and 24 blocked shots.

2.) Forward – Nate Danielson – Grand Rapids Griffins

Danielson in his first pro season scored his first career goal on October 25th and he finished October with two points on a goal and an assist, he finished as a minus-one, and had 11 shots on goal.

3.) Defenseman – Axel Sandin-Pellikka – Skelleftea AIK

Sandin-Pellikka has ten points in 12 games this season coming on three goals, and seven assists, and he was a plus-three.

4.) Forward – Michael Brandsegg-Nygård – Skelleftea AIK

Brandsegg-Nygård in October had one point coming on a goal on October 24th, he finished the month as a minus one.  

5.) Forward – Marco Kasper – Detroit Red Wings

Kasper started the season with Grand Rapids, in two games he had two points on a goal and an assist, he finished as an even before being called up to Detroit, and in seven games he had a point on an assist which occurred in his first game with the Red Wings; he is a plus two.

6.) Goalie – Sebastian Cossa – Grand Rapids Griffins

Cossa in October appeared in six games going 4-1-1 with a 1.79 goals against average and a .945 save percentage, he also had a shutout in his first game of the season.

7.) Goalie – Trey Augustine – Michigan State Spartans

Augustine has made five starts going 4-1-0 to start the season, he is posting a 1.60 goals against average and a .939 save percentage; he posted a shutout in his last start on October 25th.  

8.) Forward – Carter Mazur – Grand Rapids Griffins

Mazur is currently injured but he started the season playing three games recording two points on a goal and an assist, he is an even in plus/minus, and he has recorded six shots on goal.

9.) Defenseman – William Wallinder – Grand Rapids Griffins

Wallinder has played in five games to start the season recording just one point on an assist, he is a plus-three and has three shots on goal.

10.) Forward – Max Plante – Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs

Plante has only played in one game this season and in that game, he had two assists and two shots on goal.
