Detroit Red Wings Forward Named Third Star of the Week

The Detroit Red Wings are red hot winning seven straight games and now sit two points back of the final Wild Card spot. Last week in three games they outscored their opponents 14-7 led by one of their forwards Patrick Kane who in the three games had six points on two goals and four assists. He is currently riding a seven-game points streak on five goals and eight assists. Since the hiring of Todd McLellan he and the team have turned things around.

When it came time to sign he picked the Red Wings in which he played in 50 games with them last season recording 47 points on 20 goals and 27 assists. This season in 37 games he has 27 points on ten goals and 17 assists. Kane won the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2007-08 and also took home the Hart Memorial Trophy and Art Ross Trophy in 2015-16. The four-time All-Star is a three-time Stanley Cup Champion and was the Conn Smythe Trophy winner in 2012-13. At 36 years old he is still playing some great hockey and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, especially with the current tear he’s been on.
