Sunday

On Sunday the Red Wings used both goalies with Gylander getting the start playing just over 30 minutes then Landon Miller relieved him, and the Stars used Bryan Thompson. Detroit got on the board first as Doubet was at it again scoring with just over five minutes left in the period with a pass assisted by Hunter Johannes. In the second period, Dallas tied it as Emil Hemming scored, but the Red Wings would take the lead right back as Johannes scored with the goal assisted by Doucet and Lombardi making it 2-1 Detroit after 40 minutes of play. Stars of the Weekend

  1. Alexandre Doucet 4P. 3G. 1A. +3
  2. Amadeus Lombardi 3P. 3A. +3
  3. Hunter Johannes – 3P. 1G. 2A. +3

Bottom Line:

That line of Doucet, Lombardi, and Johannes seemed to gel for the Red Wings as they picked up the win outscoring the Stars 8-3. Gylander also looked good in net as he finished the weekend with a 0.67 goals against average and a 0.967 save percentage. Two names that surprised me were two defensemen Marcus Kearsey and Josh Van Mulligen who did have an assist but they both finished the weekend as a plus three.
