The Detroit Red Wings picked up a much-needed win and two points last night over the Chicago Blackhawks, winning 5-1, getting goals from J.T. Compher, Robby Fabbri, and Ben Chiarot; Compher and Fabbri had two goals each. The Red Wings expect to add Patrick Kane to their lineup at some point next week; some have said it will most likely be against Buffalo on Tuesday. Before that game, they will take on the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. Today, they reassigned Jonatan Berggren to Grand Rapids of the AHL, allowing them to have Kane on the roster; they also expect Dylan Larkin to play Saturday night. Larkin today posted that he and his wife lost their baby, which has led to him understandably being out the last two games. Prayers to the Larkin family during this challenging time. Berggren has spent most of his season with Grand Rapids, and he is expected to suit up for them tonight.
Jonatan Berggren By The Numbers
Berggren’s first stint with the Red Wings saw him not record a point after two games, but in his recent two games, he finally got on the score sheet, which came on Wednesday night in the Red Wings 3-2 loss to the Rangers when he assisted on Robby Fabbri’s goal. With Grand Rapids this season, he has played in 11 games and recorded 11 points on four goals and seven assists. While he was up with the Red Wings, he was playing on the second line with Robby Fabbri and Andrew Copp, which is different than his first call-up when he was playing on the third line. Berggren saw a lot of success last season in recording 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists in 67 games.
