Detroit Red Wings Sign 13th Overall Pick to ELC

The Detroit Red Wings, with the 13th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, selected forward Carter Bear from the Western Hockey League. Today, he signed his Entry Level Contract, which is for three years and carries a $975,000 AAV. This past season, in 56 games with the Everett Silvertips recorded 82 points on 40 goals and 42 assists. He was a +33 with 14 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, nine game-winning goals, and 77 penalty minutes.

Carter Bear

In 2022-23, his first season with the Silvertips, he played in 19 games, recording a goal and an assist. He was a minus-three. In the playoffs, he was held pointless in five games. He finished as a minus-one with four penalty minutes. In 2023-24 with Everett, he played in 67 games, recording 57 points on 25 goals and 32 assists. Carter Bear was a +23 with six power-play goals, four game-winning goals, and 26 penalty minutes. In nine playoff games, he had four assists. He was a minus-six with six penalty minutes. Before playing in the WHL, he spent two seasons with the Winnipeg Thrashers of the MU18HL. He played in 70 games, recording 101 points on 57 goals and 44 assists. He had 58 penalty minutes.
