Coralville, Iowa- On July 9, the Iowa Heartlanders announced that they are bringing back forward Adam Goodsir and defenseman Jules Boscq.
Goodsir, 25, joined the team in 2023 after splitting his time between Long Island University and the Worcester Railers. He played eight games for Worcester in 2023-24 before being brought into Iowa, where he played 53 games, scoring four and assisting on eight.
Jules Boscq’s story is a bit less straightforward. The France International defenseman came to the United States seeking exposure to the AHL and NHL. Boscq was able to make 22 assists in 44 games for Bordeaux in 2022-23 before signing for the Heartlanders. After four games, the World Anti-Doping Agency suspended Boscq for the rest of the 2023-24 season for a positive test of a performance-enhancing drug. He has since been reinstated and will seek to return to the Heartlanders and the France International Team.
Derek Damon has clearly affirmed his confidence in Goodsir, playing him in almost every game he was available for. He also gives Boscq a huge vote of confidence as his first defenseman signed for the 2024-25 season. His two assists in his four games before his early end to the season demonstrate just some of his potential.
Boscq and Goodsir join Will Calverley, Yuki Miura, and Jonny Sorenson as the Iowa Heartlanders currently under contract for the 2024-25 Season.
