
Indy Fuel Defenseman Adam McCormick is heading overseas to Germany to join Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the DEL2 after spending his first professional season in North America. In 33 games with the Indy Fuel, he’d put up two goals and 13 assists for 15 points in 33 games. McCormick also played in all four of Indy’s Kelly Cup Playoff games. He would also see nine games at the AHL Level with the Rockford IceHogs. He’s the second member of the Fuel to take the overseas route, joining Lauri Sertti, who is heading back home to Finland.
Prior to going pro, Adam McCormick spent time in the QMJHL and USports. The 25-year-old defenseman began his QMJHL career with the Cape Brenton Screaming Eagles, spending four seasons with the team while putting up 22 goals and 99 assists for 121 points. In his final season with the Eagles, he would be named the QMHJL’s Best Defensive Defenseman. McCormick spent his last season in the QMJHL with the Acadie-Bathurst Titans, where he had seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in 31 games. He would add three goals and 14 assists for 17 points in 35 QMJHL Playoff games.
The Woodstock, New Brunswick native would then return home to play three seasons at the University of New Brunswick. In three years with the Reds, he put up 17 goals and 60 assists for 77 points in 78 games. He also had seven assists in 12 USports Playoff games. In his final season in USports, he led the league in assists among defensemen (33). McCormick would win three straight AUS Championships with the Reds, including a University Cup in 2023. He would also be named to the AUS Second All-Star Team in all three years he spent with the Reds.
