The Adirondack Thunder have added another big body to their roster as they have acquired two-way player Darian Skeoch in a trade with the Savannah Ghost Pirates in exchange for future considerations. Skeoch, in his fourth year in the league, gives Adirondack another guy who isn’t afraid to drop the gloves and throw around the body, as he has 100+ penalty minutes in back-to-back seasons. The 6’4, 220lb two-way player has previously spent time with the Indy Fuel, Allen Americans, and Savannah Ghost Pirates, as he’s played in 130 career games, putting up three goals and 14 assists for 17 points, along with 322 minutes in penalties. Prior to playing in the ECHL, Skeoch spent two years at Carleton University in USports, where he had five goals and eight assists in 47 games. This doesn’t come as a surprise, as Adirondack recently added Nico Blachman, who dropped the gloves in his first game with the team.
There’s no doubt that the Thunder could use some help on the blueline as Adirondack currently doesn’t have any extra healthy bodies available to them as all of Adirondack’s scratches on Wednesday night are players who are unavailable due to injury. Skeoch can play up front and on the blue line, giving Adirondack some options for where to place him in the lineup. The 26-year-old is the fourth player from the Thunder who spent time with the Savannah Ghost Pirates last season. Rumors have it that the return to Savannah is going to be something worth keeping an eye on.
