The Adirondack Thunder made a trade on October 8th with the Savannah Ghost Pirates as they acquired Tristan Thompson from the Savannah Ghost Pirates in exchange for future considerations. Thompson is coming off a strong season in Savannah, where he led all Ghost Pirates defencemen in points with 42 points (8G, 34A). This is a strong move for the Adirondack as they could use another defenceman who could be an offensive threat, as well as another left-handed shot on the blue line. The Alberta Native spent his rookie year with the Rapid City Rush, where he put up four goals and 22 assists for 26 points in 48 games after spending three regular season games and three post-season games with the Strangers Oilers, who won the Norwegian Championship in 2022. Thompson spent his collegiate career at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, where he spent four years playing in 136 games, putting up 18 goals and 33 assists for 51 points. Thompson and Jack Jeffers, who was given a PTO to training camp with the Thunder, both spent time in Savannah last season; Jeffers scored in his first career ECHL game last season as he played four years with Savannah after his collegiate season at Lake Superior University.
