ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Bring Back Travis Broughman and Bryce Martin

The Adirondack Thunder announced on Monday that they are bringing back forward Travis Broughman and defenceman Bryce Martin. Broughman joined the Thunder at the end of December after spending the first part of the season in the SPHL with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs, where he played in 19 games, putting up eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points, once joining Adirondack Broughman thrived and earned himself time on the PP and saw time centering either of the top two lines for the Thunder. The 6’2 forward also gave the Thunder something they didn’t have much of, and that’s size up front in 48 games with Adirondack, Broughman put up 12 goals, and 21 assists for 33 points in 48 games; he added a goal and two assists in five Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Thunder.

“Travis Broughman started the year in the SPHL and was one of several players to take advantage of his opportunity,” said Head Coach Pete MacArthur. “He is a top-six center who sees time on the power play and has a knack for winning puck battles all over the ice. He is a pro. Welcome back, Travis!”

Bryce Martin re-joins the Thunder after coming up from the SPHL, where he had five assists in 17 games with the Rail Yard Dogs; in 10 games with the Thunder, but failed to record a point and was left off the Thunder post-season roster due to an injury. Martin is a guy who isn’t going to be afraid to throw a hit or make a play, according to head coach Pete MacArthur and he adds an element that the Thunder have yet to add on their blueline for next season. The 5’11 defenceman had seen time in the ECHL prior to his time with the Thunder as he spent 27 games with the South Carolina Stingrays during the 2021-22 season, where he put up two goals and an assist.

“Bryce Martin plays the game simple and hard,” added MacArthur. “We know what to expect when he jumps over the boards. Intensity, physicality, and a team first mindset. He was a welcome addition at the time of his recall last year and we are looking forward to seeing him as he continues development. Welcome back, Bryce!”
