ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Future Considerations Trade Deadline Recap

The Adirondack Thunder took care of business on Friday as they completed three trades prior to the ECHL’s 3 PM Future Trade Consideration deadline. Adirondack received two players as they start to build the roster for next season. Both players that Adirondack acquired today should have an impact on the team next season.

Brandon McManus Headed To Adirondack Thunder

The Adirondack Thunder have received forward Brannon McManus from the Fort Wayne Komets, completing the Blake Murray trade. McManus, 25, comes to Adirondack with three years of ECHL experience under his belt. McManus began his career with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, where he spent two seasons putting up 25 goals and 61 assists for 86 points in 130 games. The Newport Beach, California, native was traded to Fort Wayne last July. In 61 games with the Komets last season, he put up 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points. McManus has seen action in the Kelly Cup Playoffs in each of his three seasons in the league. He has two goals and four assists for six points in 18 career Kelly Cup Playoff Games.

Murray was acquired from Atlanta in the deal that sent Alex Young and Ryan Francis to the Gladiators. The Uxbridge, Ontario native didn’t see any time with Adirondack but had four goals and four assists for eight points in 12 games with the Komets. He would add five goals and four assists for nine points in 13 games during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Adam Robbins Headed To Adirondack

Forward Adam Robbins will head to the Adirondack Thunder, which will complete the deal that sent Adrien Bisson to the Tahoe Knight Monsters. Robbins, 25, just finished his rookie season with the Knight Monsters, where he put up nine goals and four assists for 13 points in 51 games. The Alpine, NJ native began his career in the USHL, spending parts of four seasons with the Chicago Steel, where he had 17 goals and 41 assists for 58 points in 92 games. He would win a Clark Cup with the Steel in 2021. Robbins would then take the NCAA route, spending four years at Princeton University. In 111 games with the Tigers, he would put up 21 goals and 37 assists for 58 points. Robbins would be nominated for the Hobey Baker Award in 2024.

Bisson played in 11 games during the regular season with Tahoe, putting up one goal and two assists for three points. He would add a goal in six Kelly Cup Playoff Games with the Monsters. Bisson has recently decided to play overseas next season.
