ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Injury Report | 11/16/2024

Adirondack Thunder Head Coach Pete MacArthur has announced that Ryan Wheeler and Darian Skoech are both day to day after they both suffered injuries in Friday’s Night game vs Reading Royals and were scratched on Saturday Night. Both players are expected to travel with the team on the upcoming road trip. Wheeler was checked into the boards late in the second period by Royals forward Matt Miller and immediately went to the locker room with Adirondack Thunder Trainer Jasmine Honey. He would return for the third period but only had a couple of shifts in the final frame. Wheeler has three goals and one assist for four points in seven games this season. This is a huge loss for the Thunder as Wheeler is a guy who can either play as a forward or defenseman and adds more grit to Adirondack’s lineup.

“I think Skee is more of a chance than Wheels but we’ll see, I’m not really sure.”

Head Coach Pete MacArthur on the status of Ryan Wheeler and Darian Skeoch

Skeoch played the whole game on Friday Night but appears to have suffered a hand injury during his fight against Jacques Bouquot. This is a massive loss as Skeoch brings a massive physical presence to this team and serves as the team’s captain. With Skeoch out of the lineup, Adirondack will look to Will MacKinnon to eat big minutes, a role MacKinnon played last year while he was with the Thunder. James Marooney should also see some more time in the Thunder lineup in Skeoch’s absence. The rookie defenseman has played in six games with Adirondack this season and picked up his first pro assist on Adirondack’s first goal of the game on Saturday Night. Skeoch has played in six of the seven games with Adirondack and has yet to find the scoresheet while recording 12 minutes in penalties.
