ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Place Matt Ustaski on Waivers

The Adirondack Thunder have announced that they have placed forward Matt Ustaski on waiver after he played in all three games as the extra skater during Adirondack’s three-game series vs the Florida Everblades failing to get on the scoresheet. Adirondack was Ustaski’s third ECHL team this season after playing with the Norfolk Admirals and Atlanta Gladiators. If Ustaski is to go unclaimed, he will likely head back to the Quad City Storm in the SPHL, where he’s put up 21 goals and 19 assists for 40 points in 26 games, “Ya, it definitely gives you some confidence, and now you just want to translate it to the next level and help out the team here in Adirondack” said Ustaski in a post-game interview after Friday Night’s game.

Ustaski getting released opens up a roster spot for Zach Walker, who just finished serving his eight-game suspension, as the Thunder should be busy this week with Patrick Grasso also eligible to come off the IR on Friday vs Reading Royals.
