ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Re-Sign Rookie Defenseman

The Adirondack Thunder have re-signed rookie defenseman Ryan Conroy for the 2024-25 season. Conroy returns to the Thunder after playing in nine games with the Thunder at the end of the regular season, where he put up one goal and one assist for two points, and would play in nine Kelly Cup Playoff Games with the Thunder, where he would put up three assists. The 23-year-old defenseman is on the smaller side when it comes to blue-liners but should prove to be a solid third-pairing player for the Thunder this season and is the fifth defenseman signed for Thunder this season. Conroy is the second rookie defenseman signed for the 2024-25 season, joining Taylor Ford.

He is fearless and intelligent, has great feet, and is a guy who should continue to excel as he learns the league.”

Prior to going pro, the Chestermere, Alberta native spent a season in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers, where he scored two goals and 16 assists for 18 points in 46 games before he headed off to the NCAA to play with Yale University. During his three years at Yale, he scored three goals and added 19 assists for 22 points in 91 games; he would lead the Bulldogs in assists (11) in his final season at the NCAA level.
