ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Sign Gustav Muller

Michelle Hancock/InsideTheRink

The Adirondack Thunder have signed center Gustav Muller to an ECHL contract. Muller has 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points this season with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs. He was centering the top line during his time in Roanoke. This comes as a bit of a shock as the Thunder are expected to get more bodies back up front shortly. I wouldn’t be shocked if we see someone get called up to Utica or a trade before Wednesday’s game vs Norfolk. If he’s in the lineup on Wednesday, I would expect him to slot in the bottom six for Adirondack, as the top two lines have been playing very well as of late. It will be interesting to see what kind of role he fills in Adirondack and how long he stays with the team.

Muller, 25, is in his first year as a pro after spending the last four years at the NCAA level, spending three years at Long Island University before spending last year at Albert Magnus College. In 49 games at LIU, the Swedish center put up six goals and five assists for 11 points. He had four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 22 games last season at Albert Magnus. Prior to taking the NCAA route, Muller spent a year in the USHL with the Madison Capitols, where he put up six goals and four assists for 10 points. Prior to coming over to North America, the 6’1, 207lb forward played in his junior hockey in Sweden.
