The Adirondack Thunder have added some much-needed experience with the signing of forward Justin Taylor for the 2025-26 season. Taylor, 36, had 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points in 51 games last season with the Fort Wayne Komets. He is the seventh forward and tenth signing by the Thunder for the 2025-26 season. The Mindemoya, Ontario, native will add experience to the Thunder forward group, and if he can stay healthy, he should be a second or third-line center who will put up around 20 goals for the Thunder. This is the most notable signing for the Thunder so far this offseason.
Justin Taylor is heading into his 16th season in the ECHL, which include 13 games with the Kalamazoo Wings. He’s also seen time with the Idaho Steelheads, Trenton Titans, Tulsa Oilers, and Fort Wayne Komets. He’s put up 290 goals and 281 assists for 571 points in 867 games. Taylor is 17 games away from tying Michael Pelech for most regular-season games played. He is also ninth all-time in goals and 14th in points. Taylor has played in 73 Kelly Cup Playoff games, where he has 21 goals and 20 assists for 41 points. Taylor has one goal in 25 games at the AHL level with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Utica Comets, and San Antonio Rampage.
Prior to going pro, the sixth-round pick of the Washington Capitals in 2007 spent parts of four seasons in the OHL with the London Knights. In 231 games with London, he put up 102 goals and 100 assists for 202 points. Taylor led the Knights in goals (37) during the 2008-09 season. He would add 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 47 OHL playoff games.
