The Adirondack Thunder have announced that they’ve signed defenseman Mathieu Boislard for the 2025-26 season. Boislard, 23, is coming off his rookie season with the Trois-Rivières Lions, where he put up one assist along with 63 PIMs in 27 games. He did not see any action during the Lions’ Kelly Cup Championship run. The 6’2 “225lb will add some much-needed grit and physicality to the Thunder blueline. Boislard is the fifth defenseman to sign with Adirondack for the 2025-26 season. I would expect Boislard to fight for a spot on the Thunder’s third defensive pairing.
The Fleurimont, Quebec, native began his career in the QCHL with the Thetford Mines Filons. In his three years with Filons, he would put up 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points along with 118 PIMS. He also played in three playoff games with Thetford Mines.
Mathieu Boislard would then make his way to FPHL, where he spent parts of three seasons with the Binghamton Black Bears. In 104 games with the Black Bears, he put up seven goals and 31 assists for 35 points along with 311 PIMs. During the 2022-23 season, he led the Black Bears in PIMs (185). He would have a goal and 69 PIMs in 14 Playoff games as the Black Bears won the 2024 Commissioner’s Cup. Boislard also saw action in 31 SPHL games during the 2023-24 season, where he put up a goal and two assists for three points along with 97 PIMs—30 of those games with the Knoxville Ice Bears.
