The Adirondack Thunder were busy on Tuesday as they announced a signing and are expected to get an important body for Wednesday’s game in TR. Let’s breakdown the rest of today’s transactions for the Thunder.
Who’s In
Adirondack Adds Another Body From the SPHL
The Thunder announced another signing from the SPHL as they’ve signed forward Rylan Nolan. Nolan, 26, has spent the last two seasons in the SPHL as he’s put up 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points in 55 games with the Peoria Rivermen and Fayetteville Marksmen. He also won a President’s Cup with the Rivermen last season. Prior to playing in the SPHL, he spent four seasons at the NCAA level, where he had two goals and six assists for eight points in 46 games. Nolan led the BCHL in PIMs (139) during the 2018-19 season. The 6’1, 198lb forward will help provide some more depth for Adirondack, who can’t seem to catch a break with injuries. I would expect him to slot in the bottom six for the Thunder when they face the Trois-Rivieres Lions.
Ryan Francis Activated From Reserve
For Adirondack, they will get a massive boost to the lineup on Friday as Ryan Francis was activated off reserve. Francis missed all three games against the Tahoe Knight Monsters this past weekend after being a very late scratch on Thursday Night. In 14 games with the Thunder, the 23-year-old forward has seven goals and four assists for 11 points. I would expect him to play top-line minutes on Wednesday Night.
Who’s Out
Wheeler To IR
Adirondack will be without Ryan Wheeler on Wednesday as he was placed on the 3-Day IR after missing Saturday’s game with an injury. This is a massive loss for the Thunder as Wheeler has been a huge part of the team this season with his ability to play on the backend and upfront for the Thunder. In 40 games this season, Wheeler has seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points, he is just two points shy of his career high of 22, which he achieved last season.
Muller To Reserve
Adirondack has placed Gustav Muller on reserve. Muller, 25, joined the Thunder at the end of January and has put up a goal and an assist in seven games with Adirondack. This comes as a shock after Muller picked up his first career goal on Saturday Night in Tahoe.
