ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Transactions | 03/06/2025

Adirondack Thunder Transactions Graphic

The Adirondack Thunder had a busy Thursday preparing their roster for the weekend series vs Wheeling Nailers. Let’s take a look at all of the moves the Thunder made earlier today.

Adirondack Adds A Forward

Adirondack would go out and add to their blueline on Thursday as they announced the signing of forward Isaiah Fox. The 24-year-old defensemen spent the last four seasons at Long Island University, where he put up 36 goals and 32 assists for 68 points in 120 games. Prior to playing in the NCAA, he spent two seasons in the NAHL with the Maine Nordiques, where he had 33 goals and 45 assists for 78 points in 100 games. Fox will be another young piece in the Thunder’s bottom six

Help From Utica

The Adirondack Thunder would get some help from the Utica Comets as two players would be sent to the Thunder on Thursday.

Jeremy Brodeur (G)- Brodeur has been up in Utica since the end of January and would make two appearances in his latest stint, winning both games he started. In four games with Utica, Brodeur is 3-0 with a 2.20 GAA and .922 SV%. In 14 games with the Thunder, Brodeur is 7-6 with a 3.11 GAA, .898SV%, and one shutout. This is huge for Adirondack to get a goalie of Brodeur’s caliber back in the lineup, as well as have Tyler Brennan playing better lately. I would expect Brodeur to get the start on Friday Night vs Wheeling.

Dylan Wendt (F)- The 24-year-old forward returns to Adirondack after being sent down to the Comets on February 24th. Wendt would not appear in a game with the Comets but would spend his time in Utica rehabbing an injury. Wendt has not appeared in a game with Adirondack or Utica since February 16th. In 38 games this season, he has seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points in 38 games. I would expect Wendt to fit somewhere in the top six in the Thunder lineup this weekend.

Gustav Muller To IR

The Adirondack Thunder will be without Gustav Muller this weekend as he was placed on the 3-day IR with an undisclosed injury. Muller has put up two goals and three assists for five points in 15 games with the Thunder. I would expect Dylan Wendt to find his way into the lineup with Mueller out.

Placed On Waivers

To make room on the roster for the additions to the roster, Head Coach Pete MacArthur had to make some tough decisions, placing two players on waivers.

Colby Muise (G)- This doesn’t come as much of a shock as Muise was signed to help fill the void with David Fessenden on IR and Jeremy Brodeur up in Utica. In nine games with Adirondack, Muise would go 1-6 with a 3.71 GAA and .867SV% and be pulled in two of his nine starts with Adirondack. I would expect Muise to go unclaimed and return to the Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL.

Savva Smirnov (F)- The 23-year-old Russian forward would get his first taste of ECHL experience playing in 24 games with Adirondack while putting up one goal and four assists for five points in 24 games. There’s no question that Smirnov had to compete with guys like Greg Smith, Gustav Muller, and Sean Gulka for a spot in the lineup, and unfortunately, he’s the odd-man out. I wouldn’t be shocked if we see Smirnov back in the ECHL with a different team this year or if someone takes a chance on him next season after he put up five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 14 games with the Quad City Storm of the SPHL.
