ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Transactions | 03/13/2025

Adirondack Thunder Transactions Graphic

The Adirondack Thunder made a few transactions on Thursday, as they had two players called up to Utica and are expecting one player back from reserve. I still expect Adirondack to make at least one more roster move so that they can field a full lineup.

Jackson van de Leest and Dylan Wendt Called Up To Utica

Utica has announced that they’ve called up forward Dylan Wendt and defenseman Jackson van de Leest. Ben Burnell of the Rome Sentinel said that Utica Comets interim head coach Ryan Parent said that both players were called up “just in case”.

Wendt, 24, has played in seven games this season, picking up two assists with his last game coming on March 7th vs Syracuse Crunch. The majority of his season has been with the Thunder, where he’s put up eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points, including a goal and two assists in two games last weekend vs Wheeling Nailers.

Van de Leest, 23, is also coming off a strong weekend with the Thunder, where he picked up a goal and an assist in the three-game series vs Wheeling. The 6’7 defenseman has played in six games this season with the Comets but has yet to find the scoresheet.

T.J. Friedmann Returns to the Lineup

Adirondack will get one body back as T.J. Friedmann is expected to return to the lineup after missing last weekend’s series with an undisclosed injury. The 27-year-old forward is one of the bigger pieces to the Thunder lineup, putting up 12 goals and six assists for 18 points in 50 games this year for the Thunder. Friedmann is a guy who can play physical and be another big body for Adirondack and will provide an offense spark to the lineup.
