ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Transactions | 12/08/2024

Adirondack Thunder Transactions Graphic

The Adirondack Thunder had a busy Sunday as they officially added Sam Ruffin to the roster and placed him on reserve. Ruffin was acquired in a trade with the Indy Fuel. Adirondack suspended Ryan Smith with the likelihood that he’s overseas in Europe, and the Utica Comets would recall two forwards. Both are currently on entry-level Contracts with the New Jersey Devils.

Two Forwards Heading Up To Utica

Utica would recall forwards Dylan Wendt and Josh Filmon. Wednt,23, has been with the Thunder since mid-November, where he played in 10 games while putting up four assists. In five games with the Comets this season, he’s put up two assists. During his time in Adirondack, the Winnipeg, Mantioba native spent the majority of his time on the top-six with Adirondack and was able to get a lot of playing time, it wouldn’t be a shock if we see the Grand Haven, Michigan native back with the Thunder later this season.

Filmon, 20, has also been with the Thunder since mid-November, playing in 13 games while scoring three goals and adding one assist for four points. The sixth-round draft pick of the Devils in 2022 was one of the few bright spots during Adirondack’s trip down South, picking up goals in each of the final three games of the road trip. Filmon began the season in Utica, where he played eight games but couldn’t find the scoresheet. I would also expect to see Filmon back in Adirondack before the end of the season.
