ECHL/AHL: Wheeling Nailers/Chicago Wolves: Jordan Martel Signed To PTO | 12/19/2024

On December 19th, 2024, the Wheeling Nailers announced that Jordan Martel was signed to a PTO with the AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes, the Chicago Wolves.

Martel, 26, started his professional career at the end of the 2021-2022 season. He dressed in two games for the Fort Wayne Komets that season and tallied two goals and one assist. He was re-signed to Fort Wayne for the 2022-2023 season and played in 13 games for the Komets, tallying six assists. Martel was traded to the Utah Grizzlies and dressed in 45 games for them, notching 18 goals and 26 assists.

In the 2023-2024 season, Martel started his season with the Utah Grizzlies, dressing in 16 games and tallying six goals and five assists. After those 16 games, Martel was traded to the Wheeling Nailers and played in 45 games, notching 29 goals and 18 assists. During the 2024-2025 thus far, Martel has played in 21 games. He has netted eight goals with 18 assists. Martel has assisted the Nailers on their 13-game winning streak, which is the longest in Wheeling Nailers history.

Before turning professional, Martel played for the USports Hockey League for his collegiate career. He played for Univ. of Québec-Trois-Rivières. During his time with the University of Québec-Trois-Rivières, Martel dressed in 38 games and notched 20 goals and 14 assists. Martel is a player whose absence is felt when he’s not on the ice, making him a highly sought-after goal scorer.
