ECHL: Alex Beaucage Heads Overseas

Trois-Rivières Lions forward Alex Beaucage is heading overseas to Finland to join Lukko in Liiga after spending his first four professional seasons in North America. The Trois-Rivières native split his season between the Lions and the Laval Rocket. In 22 games with Laval, he had two goals and three assists for five points. In 24 games in Trois-Rivières, he put up 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points. He would add 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points in 21 Kelly Cup Playoff games. His 10 goals would be tied for first with fellow teammate Anthony Beauregard. Beaucage becomes the first Lion this off-season to take the overseas route.

Alex Beaucage,23, was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft. He would spend his first three seasons with the organization, primarily in the AHL. In 124 games with the Colorado Eagles, he put up 13 goals and 26 assists for 39 points. He would add two goals and three assists during the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs. Beaucage also played in 29 games with the Utah Grizzlies during the 2023-24 season, where he had 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points.

Junior Career

Prior to going pro, Beaucage spent four seasons in the QMJHL, primarily with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In 206 games with the Huskies, he would put up 107 goals and 101 assists for 208 points. He would win a Memorial Cup with the Huskies in 2019. Beaucage would finish his QMJHL career with the Victoriaville Tigres, putting up three goals and five assists for eight points in eight games at the end of the regular season. He would add 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points in 16 games as he won back-to-back QMJHL Championships. His 25 points would lead the league.
