The Allen Americans have announced that they have hired BJ Adams as their Head Coach and General Manager less than two weeks after they fired Chad Costello, the team has yet to disclose any news on an assistant coach for next season. Prior to joining the Americans, Adams had spent eight seasons with the Erie Otters of the OHL, with his first season as the assistant coach in Erie before being promoted to head coach on November 11th, 2021. In his first full season as Head Coach of the Otters, he would lead the team to a 21-40-7 record and would not return to Erie for the 2023-24 season. The Ontario native would win an OHL championship with the Otters in 2017 as an assistant coach with the team.

Despite not coaching in the league prior, Adams does have some familiarity with it. He spent four seasons as a player in the ECHL with the Toledo Storm and Pee Dee Pride, where he scored 13 goals and 52 assists for 63 points and played 383 penalty minutes in 259 games.
