ECHL: Allen Americans Re-Sign Defenseman

The Allen Americans have announced that they have re-signed defenseman Ryan Gagnon for the 2024-25 season.

Collegiate Career

Ryan Gagnon started his collegiate career at the University of Calgary, playing in USports in the 2017-18 season. Gagnon spent five seasons at Calgary but only played in four seasons due to the 2020-21 season being canceled. Gagnon played in 99 games where he had eight goals and 32 goals for 40 points with 152 penalty minutes. Gagnon and the University of Calgary made the playoffs in all four seasons in which they actually played games. Gagnon played in a total of 19 playoff games, where he had one goal and four assists for five points with 16 penalty minutes. Gagnon captained the University of Calgary’s team in his final season, the 2021-22 season. After completing his collegiate career, Gagnon signed with the Allen Americans to start his professional career.

Allen Americans Career

Ryan Gagnon started playing for the Allen Americans at the start of the 2022-23 season after signing his first professional contract. The 2024-25 season will be Gagnon’s third season with the Americans. In his two seasons with the Americans, Gagnon has played in 120 games, where he has four goals and 13 assists for 17. He had 132 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -25. Gagnon has also played in two postseasons with the Allen Americans playing in 16 games where he has one goal and five assists for six points. He has eight penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -2.
