ECHL: Allen Americans Re-Sign Justin Allen

The Allen Americans have announced that they have re-signed defenseman Justin Allen for the 2024-25 ECHL season. The 27-year-old defenseman is the third signing by the Americans for the 2024-25 season, as Allen had previously signed Ryan Gagnon and Easton Brodzinski.

Collegiate Career

Justin Allen spent his collegiate career playing Division III hockey at Utica College starting in the 2018-19 season. Allen played all five seasons at Utica College, which was renamed Utica University, in his final season there. In his five seasons there, Allen played in 119 games, where he had 19 goals and 89 assists for 108 points. He had 24 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +23. In his fifth and final season Allen was one of the alternate captains for Utica University.

Professional Career

After completing his collegiate career, Allen signed with the Norfolk Admirals to finish off the 2022-23 season. Allen played in ten games with the Admirals where he had seven assists.

After re-signing with the Norfolk Admirals for the 2023-24 season, Allen ended up joining the Americans, where he spent the 2023-24 season. He did not play in any games in the 2023-24 season with the Admirals before joining the Allen Americans. Allen played in 38 games where he had two goals and eight assists for ten points. He had 16 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -2. Allen played in five games with the Americans in the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs, where he had two assists. He had zero penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +1.
