ECHL: Allen Americans Sign Forward Brayden Guy From Brampton, Ontario

The Allen Americans have announced that they have signed 6’0″ forward Brayden Guy for the 2024-25 ECHL season.

Junior Career

Brayden Guy started his junior career in the 2017-18 season with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. In his four seasons with the Sting, Guy played in 182 games, where he had 49 goals and 42 assists for 91 points. He had 101 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -51. In two playoff seasons, Guy played in 14 games where he had one goal and zero assists for one point. He had 11 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -3. Guy captained the team in his final season with the Sting.

To finish off his junior career, Guy joined the Guelph Storm in the OHL. He played in 36 games with the Storm, where he had 19 goals and 11 assists for 30 points. He had 28 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +1. In the playoffs, he played in five games where he had one goal and three assists for four points. He had four penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +2. Guy was also the captain for the Storm.

Professional Career

Brayden Guy started his professional career in the 2022-23 season with the Orlando Solar Bears in the ECHL. In 55 games, Guy had 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points. He had 23 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of 0. In the 2023-24 season, Guy spent most of the season in the ECHL, but also spent a little bit of time in the AHL. In the AHL, Guy played two games with the Thunderbirds where he did not register any points and had five penalty minutes and a plus/minus of 0. In the ECHL, he played for the Solar Bears and Reading Royals. With the two teams, he played in a total of 40 games, where he had six goals and five assists for 11 points. He had 43 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -9.

Brayden Guy is not a huge player, but his personality on the ice is. Guy is not afraid to play physically and can fight to stand up for his teammates or get some momentum going for the team when needed. Guy also has some offensive power with his shot and his ability to read the ice and players around him.

The 2024-25 season will be Guy’s third season of professional hockey and third season in the ECHL.
