The Allen Americans have announced that they’ve signed forward Thomas Caron for the 2025-26 season. Caron, 28, played in 31 games with the Idaho Steelheads, putting up eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points. In January, he would be traded to the Indy Fuel before being suspended by the team just two days later. The Candiac, Quebec, native would then head overseas for the rest of the 2024-25 season. He would put five goals and two assists for seven points in 15 games in Finland. At 6’2, 216lbs, Carron is a big power-forward who should easily find his way into the top-six for the Americans.

Thomas Caron has split his North American career between the ECHL and AHL. At the ECHL level, he’s put up 17 goals and 35 assists for 52 points in 93 games with the Trois-Rivières Lions, Norfolk Admirals, and Idaho Steelheads. He had three goals and three assists for six points in 12 games during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

“He is a true power forward,” noted Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson.  “He scores, makes plays, and hits like a truck.  Thomas (Caron) is just one of the signed players that guarantees that we have the guys that can play the heavy offensive style that our fans expect and love to watch”.

At the AHL level, Caron has spent all his time with the Manitoba Moose, where he’s put up five goals and five assists for 10 points in 55 games. Prior to going pro, Caron spent parts of four seasons in the QMJHL with the Québec Remparts. In 146 games with the Remparts, he would put up 31 goals and 41 assists for 72 points, along with 209 PIMs. His 115 penalty minutes during the 2019-20 season would lead the QMJHL.
