ECHL Fines and Transactions

The ECHL Department of Player’s Saftey has announced multiple suspensions stemming from Friday Night’s Games.

Nico Blachman and Mikael Robidoux Suspended

Iowa Heartlanders forward Nico Blachman and Bloomington Bison forward Mikael Robidoux have each been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing and fined an undisclosed amount for their actions at the end of the first period in Friday’s game. As the period ended, both players would drop the gloves, with Blachman getting the last lick in on Robidoux. Blachman would be assessed a major for fighting, a match penalty for fighting, and a game misconduct for leaving the bench. Robidoux would be assessed a major for fighting and game misconduct for leaving the bench. This is Blachman’s third suspension of the season. In 44 games with Iowa, Blachman has five goals and four assists for nine points in along with 219PIMs, all of which are career highs. Blachman currently leads the league in PIMS. He would also get his first call-up to the AHL as he’s played in three games with the Iowa Wild. Blachman is eligible to return on ___.

For Robidoux, this is his second suspension of the season. In 50 combined games with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Bloomington Bison Robidoux has put up three goals and two assists for five points along with 164PIMs.

Daniel Amesbury Suspended

The league has suspended Kansas City Mavericks forward Daniel Amesbury two games and fined him an undisclosed amount for his actions in Friday’s game vs Idaho Steelheads. Amesbury would deliver a cross-check to the back of Idaho’s Ryan Gagnon at the 17:46 mark of the third period. He would be assessed a game-misconduct for cross-checking. Amesbury is eligible to return on March 15th vs Greenville. Amesbury has one assist in 28 games this season, along with 163PIMs.
