ECHL Fines and Transactions

The ECHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Orlando’s Brayden Low has been fined, and Wichita’s Joe Carroll has been fined and suspended.

Brayden Low Fined

Brayden Low has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Saturday’s game vs South Carolina Stingrays. Low would slewfoot South Carolina’s Tyler Weiss at the 19:32 mark of the second period and would be assessed a match penalty on the play. He missed Game 1 after being suspended for instigating a fight in the final minute of a game. Low had 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points in 59 games during the regular season. He has six goals and five assists for 11 points in 29 career Kelly Cup Playoff Games.

Low, 30, is in his seventh year in the ECHL, having spent time with the Rapid City Rush, Quad City Mallards, Wichita Thunder, Reading Royals, and Orlando Solar Bears. He has 108 goals and 131 assists for 239 points in 427 games. Prior to going pro, the Richmond, British Columbia native spent five seasons in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks and Everett Silvertips. He had 26 goals and 31 assists for 57 points in 187 games.

Joe Carroll Suspended

Wichita Thunder forward Joe Carroll had been suspended one game for his actions in Saturday’s game vs Tahoe Knight Monsters. Carroll would throw a high hit on Tahoe’s Adrien Bisson at the 4:14 mark of the first period. He would be assessed a minor penalty for charging on the play. In 34 games this season, the Carp, Ontario native would put up 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points. He will miss tonight’s game vs Tahoe.

Carroll, 24, just finished his second season in the ECHL after putting up 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points in 23 games with Orlando during the 2022-23 season. The majority of his time has been spent in the AHL. In 69 AHL games, he has 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points.
