The ECHL Department of Player’s Safety handed out two suspensions on Monday, which marked the third straight day that the league has handed out at least one suspension.
Yanick Turcotte Suspended
Fort Wayne Komets Forward Yanick Turcotte has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Sunday’s game vs Cincinnati Cyclones. Turcotte, who had already taken a misconduct earlier in the game, would drop the gloves with Rhett Parsons shortly after Anthony Petruzzeli’s goal to make it 5-0 Fort Wayne and would be assessed a fighting major along with a game misconduct for being the aggressor in the final five minutes of the game, as Turcotte finished the game with 27 PIMS. He will miss Saturday’s game vs Wheeling Nailers. The 28-year-old forward has two goals along with 82 PIMs in 11 games this season. Turcotte has never scored more than two goals in a season in his eight-year career.
Jules Boscq Suspended
The ECHL Department of Player’s Safety has suspended Iowa Heartlanders defenseman Jules Boscq one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for his actions during Sunday’s game vs Bloomington Bison. Boscq would hit Bloomington’s Dalton Duhart into the boards from behind at the 6:29 mark of the second period and would be assessed a major for boarding and game misconduct for the hit. He will miss Saturday Night’s game at Bloomington. The 22-year-old defenseman has four assists in seven games this season for the Heartlanders; he had two assists in four games last year with Iowa.
