ECHL Fines and Transactions

The ECHL Department of Player’s Safety announced two suspensions on Monday stemming from Sunday’s games.

Wichita’s Michal Stinil Suspended

Wichita Thunder forward Michal Stinil has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for actions in Sunday’s game vs Kansas City Mavericks. Stinil would deliver a cross-check to Kansas City Maverick’s forward Damien Giroux at the 19:32 mark of the first period and would be assessed a minor penalty for boarding. This is a huge loss for the Thunder as Stinil has ten goals and 14 assists for 24 points in 21 games this season and leads Wichita in all offensive categories. He also led the team in goals during the 2024-25 season (32). The 25-year-old forward will miss Friday’s game vs Allen Americans.

Nico Blachman Suspended

Iowa Heartlanders forward Nico Blachman has once again been suspended by the ECHL Department of Player’s Safety, as he received four games and was fined an undisclosed amount for his cross-check on Bloomington Bison Forward Sam Sternschein at the 10:45 mark of third period during Sunday’s game vs Bloomington. Blachman would cross-check Sternschein and then continue to cross-check him multiple times as well as he was lying on the ice. The 26-year-old forward has one goal along with 84 PIMs while playing in all 17 games for Iowa this season with the Heartlanders, those 84 penalty minutes lead the ECHL. He will miss the next four games for the Heartlanders and will be eligible to return on December 13th vs Toledo Walleye.
