The ECHL Department of Player Safety has announced a series of fines and suspensions following the intense match between the Indy Fuel and Utah Grizzlies on November 30. Cam Hausinger and Christopher Cameron from Indy, along with Utah’s Kyle Pow, have faced disciplinary actions for their conduct during the game.
These measures include the fines and multi-game suspensions for the players as listed below:
Indy Fuel
Indy’s Cam Hausinger has received an undisclosed fine for his actions during ECHL Game #249 (Indy at Utah) on November 30. This fine falls under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline, pertaining to an incident at 7:47 in the third period.
Indy’s Christopher Cameron has been suspended for five games and fined an undisclosed amount for leaving the players’ bench to engage in an altercation during the same game. He will miss the upcoming games against Iowa on December 6 and December 7, against Allen on December 13, and against Kalamazoo on December 14 and December 15. His suspension is in accordance with Rule #70.3 and Rule #70.10.
Utah Grizzlies
Utah’s Kyle Pow has been suspended for six games and fined an undisclosed amount for receiving a major penalty and game misconduct due to cross-checking at 16:38 of the third period during the same game. He will be absent from games against Kansas City on December 4, December 6, and December 7, and then Tahoe on December 12, December 14, and December 15. His suspension is under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.
According to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, all player fines collected by the ECHL are allocated to the PHPA’s ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
