ECHL Announces Length Of Nico Blachman and Mikael Robidoux Suspensions

The ECHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Iowa Heartlander forward Nico Blachman has been suspended seven additional games, and Bloomington Bison forward Mikael Robidoux has been suspended four additional games after their hearings with the league. Both players were suspended indefinitely on Saturday for their actions in Friday Night’s Game. They would each miss Saturday Night’s Game.

Nico Blachman Suspended

It’s been a career year for Blachman, who has scored five goals and four assists for nine points in 44 games with the Heartlanders and is also wearing a letter for the team. The 26-year-old forward would also get his first career call-up to the AHL and play in three games with the Iowa Wild while putting up 18 minutes in penalties. Blachman is in his fifth season in the ECHL and has put up 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points, along with 786 PIMS in 160 career games. He’s eligible to return on April 4th vs Norfolk.

Mikael Robidoux Suspended

Robidoux, 25, began his season with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, where he put up three goals and two assists for five points along with 145 penalty minutes in 46 games before being traded to Bloomington on February 26th. In four games with the Bison, the 25-year-old forward has yet to find the scoresheet but has racked up 19PIMs. The La Prairie, Quebec native is in his fifth season in the ECHL as he’s put up 19 goals and 20 assists for 39 points. He’s also added one assist in 12 career Kelly Cup Playoff Games. Robidoux is eligible to return on March 22nd vs Indy.
