The ECHL announced multiple suspensions prior to Sunday’s game. Four different players have been fined and suspended, and another player just received a fine.
Leppard and Yeamans Suspended
Bloomington Bison forward Jackson Leppard has been suspended five games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Saturday’s game vs Iowa Heartlanders. Leppard left the bench to join an altercation at the 15:27 mark of the second period. He will be eligible to return on November 15th when Bloomington plays the Cincinnati Cyclones. The 24-year-old forward has one goal and one assist for two points, along with 29 penalty minutes.
The other player suspended from Saturday Night’s game between Bloomington and Iowa is Heartlander forward Brandon Yeamans. He is suspended two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his game misconduct for being the aggressor at the 15:27 mark of the second period. The 26-year-old center has played in three games with Iowa this season but has yet to find the scoresheet. He is eligible to return on November 3rd vs Tulsa Oilers.
Samuel Mayer Gets a Game
Tahoe Knight Monsters defenseman Samuel Mayer has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions during Friday Night’s game vs Jacksonville Icemen. Mayer was assessed a five-minute major for boarding with a game misconduct. The 21-year-old rookie defenseman played in each of Tahoe’s games last week. He will miss Thursday’s game vs Idaho Steelheads.
Norfolk’s Defenseman Gets a Game
Norfolk Admirals defenseman Graham Sward has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions during Saturday’s game vs Maine Mariners. The 21-year-old defenseman was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for cross-checking at the 10:01 mark of the third period. Sward, who has played in all four games for Norfolk so far, will miss Wednesday’s game vs Worcester.
Yanick Turcotte Fined
The ECHL has fined Fort Wayne Komets forward Yanick Turcotte for his actions in Friday’s game vs Kalamazoo Wings. Turcotte was assessed a five minute major and a game misconduct for cross-checking at the 12:58 mark of the third period. He has a goal in three games with the Komets so far.
