The Worcester Railers have added another new addition to their blueline with the addition of defenseman Jake Stevens. The Naperville, Illinois native would bounce around during the 2024-25 season, spending time with three different teams while playing in both the ECHL and SPHL. Steven didn’t make his season debut until January, as he played nine games with the Maine Mariners before being dealt to the Tahoe Knight Monsters. The 28-year-old would pick up three assists in 16 games with Tahoe. Stevens finished his year in the SPHL with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, where he had five assists in six games.
Jake Stevens will be entering his fourth season in the ECHL. He began his career at the end of the 2021-22 season, where he put up a goal and seven assists for eight points in 11 games with the Iowa Heartlanders. Stevens would take the 2022-23 season off before heading back to the E for the 2023-24 season. In 36 games during the 2023-24 season with the Orlando Solar Bears and Greenville Swamp Rabbits, he put up three goals and six assists.
“I think this team has every piece needed to win a lot of hockey games,” Stevens said. “I think we’re going to bring a lot of energy to the building every game… I think it’s going to be really special.”
