The Atlanta Gladiators have added another power forward to their roster as they have confirmed the acquisition and signing of forward Tyler Drevitch from the Maine Mariners. In return, they have traded the rights to defenseman Jake Willets and a future consideration.
Before starting his professional career, the New England native spent four seasons competing for Merrimack College. Drevitch appeared in 94 games for the Warriors and tallied nine goals, seven assists, and 16 points. His most productive season in terms of points was his junior year. He received a pair of accolades during two other seasons with the Warriors as he was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team as a freshman and later was named a team captain during his senior year.
He kicked off his professional hockey career in the 2020-21 season with the Wheeling Nailers, Tyler Drevitch played 62 games, scored five goals, made nine assists, for a total of14 points. In the following season, Drevitch played 54 games, scored eight goals, had 10 assists, totaling 18 points for the Nailers. During the 2022-23 season with the team, one of his career highs, Drevitch played all 72 games, scored 18 goals, had 15 assists, and earned 33 points.
During the 2023-24 season, Tyler Drevitch joined the Maine Mariners. Throughout the regular season, he participated in 70 games, where he managed to score 10 goals and contributed with 18 assists, resulting in a combined total of 28 points. When it came to the Calder Cup playoffs, Drevitch took part in five games, scoring a goal and amassing 6 penalty minutes.
Tyler Drevitch has joined the Gladiators roster along with the return of several players including Dylan Carabia, Ryan Cranford, Eric Neiley, Michael Marchesan, Jackson Pierson, and Derek Topatigh. Additionally, Blake Murray was also signed to the team last week. The team will kickstart the 2024-25 season on Saturday, October 19th, at Gas South Arena, when they faceoff against the Indy Fuel.
