On Tuesday, the Atlanta Gladiators announced that Cody Sylvester has decided to play overseas, resulting in the club suspending him to maintain his ECHL playing rights. Sylvester had a great run with the Atlanta Gladiators having played in 167 games and contributing 175 points (77G, 98A) over the past three seasons with the team. In the previous two seasons, Sylvester was the Gladiators’ top scorer, and this season, he was tied as their leading point producer. Sylvester had broken the Atlanta Gladiators’ record for the most goals scored in a single season with 38.
The team also announced this week that both Micah Miller and Reece Vitelli, who were on loan to the American Hockey League’s Tucson Roadrunners, have been returned to the Gladiators. This season, the talented Vitelli has played 25 games for Atlanta, scoring 24 points in total (6G, 18A). Miller currently has posted 29 points (17G, 12A) in 38 games with the Gladiators in his first professional season.
Additionally, the team announced the trade of Matt Ustaski to the Adirondack Thunder for future considerations.
The Atlanta Gladiators are scheduled to play the Indy Fuel for three consecutive nights in Indianapolis, Indiana. The three-game series against the Fuel will kick off starting Thursday at 7 PM.
