The Florida Everblades are bringing back forward Ben Brar for the 2025-26 season, locking in another important piece of their forward core as the roster continues to take shape.

Brar, 26, heads into his third season with the Everblades after first joining the team in March of 2024 following his collegiate career at Merrimack College. In his first full pro season in 2024-25, Brar played 42 games, tallying nine goals and five assists for 14 points, while finishing with a +9 rating.

Playoff Performer in 2024, Injury Sideline in 2025

In his first taste of playoff hockey, Brar played seven postseason games in 2024, contributing to the Everblades’ Kelly Cup Championship run. Unfortunately, an injury kept him off the ice for the 2025 postseason, but his regular-season contributions helped Florida get there (Florida Everblades, 2025).

Leadership and Development Path

Before turning pro, Brar spent five seasons at Merrimack College, where he wore the captain’s “C” in his final two years. Over his NCAA career, he registered 39 goals and 44 assists for 83 points in 155 games with the Warriors, becoming known for his leadership and gritty two-way game.

A native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Brar also played his junior hockey in the BCHL with the Cowichan Valley Capitals, Penticton Vees, and Prince George Spruce Kings, winning the BCHL championship in 2019 while serving as an alternate captain with Prince George.

What’s Next?

With Brar officially re-signed, the Everblades are adding depth and veteran leadership to their 2025-26 roster. His experience, versatility, and physical style make him a reliable option on the left wing as Florida gears up for another run at the postseason.

Brar’s return adds veteran depth to Florida’s 2025-26 roster. He’ll join a growing list of returning and re-signed players, including Hunter Sansbury, Kurtis Henry, Isaac Nurse, Jordan Sambrook, Kade Landry, Jesse Lansdell, and Sean Allen, as the Everblades continue to build their lineup for the upcoming season.

The 2025-26 campaign kicks off on Friday, October 17th, when the Florida Everblades hit the road to face the Orlando Solar Bears. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. EDT at the Amway Center.
