
The Bloomington Bison have announced that they’ve re-signed forward Jonny Evans for the 2025-26 season. Evans, 28, had an injury-shortened season, putting up two goals and nine assists for 11 points in 30 games. He also wore a letter with Bloomington last season. Prior to joining the Bison, the Delta, British Columbia, native spent three seasons with the South Carolina Singrays, where he put up 34 goals and 54 assists for 88 points in 105 games. He would add one assist in five games during the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs. He was acquired last Summer in a trade with the South Carolina Stingrays. Evans is the fifth forward and the seventh player signed by the Bison for the 2025-26 season. He is also the fourth returning forward for the Bison.
Prior to going pro, Jonny Evans spent four years in the BCHL and in the NCAA. In four years with the Powell River Kings, he put up 82 goals and 108 assists for 190 points in 194 games. In 2017, Evans was named to the BCHL Second All-Star Team. He would add 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 31 BCHL Playoff games. Once his junior career was over, Evans would take his talents to the University of Connecticut. During his four years with the Huskies, he would put up 37 goals and 42 assists for 79 points in 106 games. His best season came during the 2020-21 season, where he put up 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 23 games. Evans was named to the Hockey East First All-Star Team and was the Scoring Champion in Hockey East.
