ECHL: Bloomington Bison Announce First Signing For the 2025-26 Season

The Bloomington Bison have announced their first signing of the 2025-26 season as they’ve added forward Mark Kaleinikovas to their roster. Kaleinikovas spent last season in Poland with JKH GHS Jastrzebie. He would put up 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points in 30 games. He also claimed a World Championship Gold Medal (D1B) with Latvia. Kaleinikovas would lead Latvia with four goals and three assists for seven points in five games during the Tournament. Kaleinikovas will be the first Latvian player to suit up for the Bloomington Bison. This will be his first time playing in North America. It will be interesting to see how he adapts to the North American style of play.

Mark Kaleinikovas has played in Poland, Latvia, and Ukraine during his professional career. He’s spent the last three years in Poland, putting up 37 goals and 48 assists for 85 points in 94 games. He would add 17 goals and 11 assists for 28 points in 40 playoff games. Kaleinikovas has spent five seasons in the top Latvian league, where he’s put up 56 goals and 54 assists for 110 points in 104 games. The Latvian forward would also put up two goals and two assists for four points in three Olympic Qualifying games for his home country during the 2023-24 season. He has nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in 18 International games with Latvia. During the 2021-22 season, he played in 32 games in Ukraine, where he had 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points.
