ECHL: Bloomington Bison Sign Kasimir Kaskisuo

Norfolk Admirals/ECHL

The Bloomington Bison have announced that they’ve signed goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo, this comes a day after Mark Sinclair announced that he was going overseas. Kaskisuo, 31, has played in two games this season with the Norfolk Admirals, going 0-2 with a 3.53 GAA and .873SV%. This doesn’t come as a shock, as Bloomington needed another goaltender to backup Yaniv Perets. The Finnish goaltender will be the sixth goaltender Bloomington has used this season once he makes an appearance with the Bison. Kaskisuo is also known for his off-the-ice activities, as he makes cooking videos that he posts on social media.

Prior to this season, Kaskisuo has spent his career in the AHL and ECHL. In 108 AHL games with the Toronto Marlies, Chicago Wolves, and Laval Rocket, he’s put up a 53-36-13 record with a 2.68 GAA, .909SV%, and eight shutouts. He is 14-6 with a 2.36 GAA, .913SV%, and one shutout in 22 career Calder Cup Playoff games. Kaskisuo was named to the AHL All-Star game in 2020. At the ECHL level, he’s put a 15-14-5 record with a 3.45 GAA, .896SV%, and out shutout while spending time with the Orlando Solar Bears and Norfolk Admirals. He’s also made two NHL appearances. Before going pro, he spent two years at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he went 37-29-8 with a 2.10 GAA, .920SV%, and six shutouts in 75 games. He was named to the NCHC All-Rookie team during the 2014-15 season, where he went 18-14-3 with a 2.30 GAA, .917SV%, and one shutout in 36 games.
